Song lyrics

Main apne aap ko (Duet)

📜 Lyrics

I am unable to recognize myself Yet I cannot bring myself to accept this truth You are a part of my soul, know this, beloved I am unable to traverse this journey without you That door never opens equally for everyone So knowing this, I am unable to truly know it I am an open book before your gaze I am unable to hide the secrets of my heart from you I am still entangled in the affairs of this world I am unable to sift through this desert dust just yet Take my hand, forget the world with me I am unable to bear this pain alone anymore Sometimes even betrayal makes the heart ache I am unable to stretch the sky of faithfulness above my head Your cruelty feels like devotion to me I am unable to erase your flaws from my heart You mix truth with falsehood in your words I am unable to hold up a mirror to your face My existence is tangled for you alone I am unable to abandon myself without you I am unable to recognize myself I am unable to traverse this journey without you

💡 Meaning & story

Track Description (Track Description) Reimagine by Mohammad Farooq "I am unable to recognize myself" — a vocal and emotional dialogue This duet is not merely a song but a profound conversation between two loving souls. In this melody, the sharp and passionate strains of Spanish Flamenco have been woven beautifully with the sensitivity of contemporary Urdu ghazal. Two different perspectives are presented in this composition: The Woman's Voice (Struggle and Search): The first facet of the ghazal expresses a confused state where one loses their identity. In the worldly entanglements and the truths and lies of relationships, she has become so lost that she is unable to place complete faith in herself and her beloved. This section is an acknowledgment of deep psychological struggle and human frailty. The Man's Voice (Conviction and Refuge): In response, the masculine voice emerges as a strong support. He accepts with an open heart all the beloved's confusions, flaws, and doubts. He tells her that his own existence is incomplete without her and he is ready to share every pain of hers. He wishes to remain bound to her being, even understanding her "cruelty" as "faithfulness." This song is indeed a beautiful expression of how when a person loses themselves in the crowd of the world, true love and sincere companionship returns to them their lost reflection.
