💡 Meaning & story
The message of this poem for the audience is quite simple and charming: - Shad Azimabadi 1846 - 1927
A morning scene: The poet awakens the deep sleepers by calling out to them, saying that night has passed and the light of dawn has begun to spread. Because the sun has risen, the moon's glow has faded, and light is spreading in all directions.
Nature's awakening: The cool breezes of morning are blowing, flowers are swaying with joy. The birds have awakened; the cuckoo and the dove sing in their own distinct and sweet manner. The chirping of birds echoes on the branches of trees, buds have bloomed in gardens, and rivers flow. Animals, like cows and buffaloes, have also come out to graze.
Counsel and message: Finally, the poet addresses a child named "Ahmad" (who symbolically represents every young person or reader) and tells him to leave his bed, wash his face and hands, dress himself, and go out to stroll through the fields and gardens. The poem concludes with this beautiful counsel: "Wasting or losing time is equivalent to committing injustice upon oneself."
